Watch DVD movies on Mac Mini via Plex/Home theatre

This article tells you how to convert DVD collection to MKV/MP4 on Mac for watching on Mac Mini via Plex server and Home theatre and backup them onto NAS sever.

While enjoying broadcast and Internet TV on Mac with ease, have you ever thought of putting your DVD movie collections to your media server and other devices Library for playback? Here is a question from one of my friend.

Now I wanted to create backups of my dvd collection and to play them without having to search through several shelfs of DVDs and I also wana clear the shelfs to keep it clean. Then how to copy my dvds onto Mac Mini via Plex server and Home theatre, and keep them on NAS for storage?

To help him out, I Googled the best Blu-ray/DVD ripper and read the top reviews, I find a wonderful BDMagic for Mac which has many good reviews on internet, no extra charges at checkout. (Read Top 5 Best Blu-ray Ripper for Mac Programs Review) I have successfully ripped my Blu-ray and DVD into mp4 format for watching on my 2 iPads and 1 iPhone with it, and then I recommended it to my friend to help him easily manage his DVD videos with creating backups. Now go to try the trial version to experience what it can do for you.

Here let me show you how to convert Blu-ray to MKV/MP4 format for streaming via Plex server and Home theatre step by step. Before going on, please make sure having downloaded and installed it.
